Shell House
June 9, 2010
A stunning architectural marvel designed and crafted by the organic architect Senosiain Arquitectos. This house is built using ferrocement construction, a technique involving a frame of steel-reinforced chicken wire with a special two-inch-thick composite of concrete spread over it, resulting in a structure that’s earthquake-proof and maintenance-free. With the smooth spiral shape, the in- and out-door vegetation and the gorgeous colorful facade, it almost feels as if a chubby baby Shrek will come out happy bouncing any second now!
I guess living in a shell doesn’t sound like a bad idea at all now ha?
