A treat for your eyes and your feet!
June 15, 2010
Nothing brings a room together like the right area rug! Area rugs are that special touch of color and style to showcase your unique taste and help you personalize your space.
This Dia Rug is one my top favorites! Made of the finest New Zealand wool woven into heavy duty felt that’s cut with a laser before being glued into many layers. With its gorgeous designs, pop-of-color twist, and water and dust resistance, this Dia rug is the ultimate focal point for your room and if you treat yourself to one I’m sure you’ll have it for a very very long time! – Get this rug on MOHO DESIGN
Another favorite is this Ethereal Rug designed by Esti Barnes and you can get it in any size or color on Top Floors. Such a gorgeous and timeless work of art!
and if you have a soft spot for colorful patterns here are a couple of picks for you:

Jux·ta·po·si·tion Home
June 14, 2010
For those of you who haven’t heard of it before, Juxtaposition Home is -and nothing describes it better than its own slogan- “where vintage industrial, crisp linen, and found objects are not storage bedfellows.” … Its an amazing collection of antiques, furniture (in store and custom), textiles, and even vintage jewelry…. When it wasn’t Sprinkles Cupcakes, ‘breathing in’ the beauty at Juxtaposition was my guilty pleasure when I lived in Newport Beach. I’ll say no more.. Look at these pictures and judge for yourself!
………………
P.S. Springkles Cupcakes are some of the best cupcakes anywhere! Saying delicious would be a huge understatement… You’re probably gonna have to wait in a line but TOTALLLLY worth it!
Industrial Kitchens
June 14, 2010
Can’t seem to make up your mind between rustic and modern? thinking design schizophrenia?? Don’t worry, you probably just belong to a very special style category called ‘industrial chic’! Sounds cool right?
Well here are a few kitchen designs for you.. Industrial kitchens are all about mixing textures, the rough with the smooth to create a bold impact just the way you like it. They’re all about durable functional elegance with countless combination possibilities of task lights, stainless steel surfaces, concrete floors, rustic butcher blocks, exposed brickwork, high-end professional appliances, industrial pan racks, and even hip artwork!

Laid back living
June 13, 2010
Can’t really think of a better term to describe how these spaces make me feel.. Luxury wouldn’t be the proper word to describe them.. actually there is something miles beyond luxury about these spaces that makes them so charmingly inviting.. their comfy cozy everything-works attitude.. Not your typical glamorous magazine space but they’re a universe of inspiration in their simplicity!

The Eames Lounge
June 12, 2010
My all time favorite chair! definitely not the prettiest seating option out there, but it has this eccentric stunning beauty that’s made it one of the most famous chair designs of the century and an ultimate choice by interior designers worldwide for over 5 decades now…. I guess that and not to forget its renowned extra comfort of course! .. The Eames chair is truly a never-will-go-out-of-style chair that perfectly blends in with any design from old fashioned traditional to the most visionary modern. I think it was the best part of Frasier’s apartment, don’t you agree?

Gorgeous Powder Room
June 9, 2010
Designed by Stephanie Marsh Fillbrant of Marsh & Clark Design, this powder room shows how the tiniest spaces in a house could be turned into extremely elegant, functional, and inviting rooms. The serene color palette and gorgeous mosaic design that unfurls up the blue walls and sings in harmony with the dazzling portrait window are pure beauty.

Shell House
June 9, 2010
A stunning architectural marvel designed and crafted by the organic architect Senosiain Arquitectos. This house is built using ferrocement construction, a technique involving a frame of steel-reinforced chicken wire with a special two-inch-thick composite of concrete spread over it, resulting in a structure that’s earthquake-proof and maintenance-free. With the smooth spiral shape, the in- and out-door vegetation and the gorgeous colorful facade, it almost feels as if a chubby baby Shrek will come out happy bouncing any second now!
I guess living in a shell doesn’t sound like a bad idea at all now ha?
