Meet Candice!

May 14, 2010

Candice Olson, one of my favorite designers of all times. Her style always strikes just the right balance between cozy, chic, and functional and she attends to every single detail in the room to bring it all together in what I call ‘melody for the eye’. I’ve watched almost all of her shows and I have to say I’m impressed every time. Please enjoy some of my favorite picks:

Candice designed this as a studio, meeting/work space for a film director. The space is super functional and very inviting. You can see the interesting combination of all the different textures, shapes, and colors with the white cream linen tufted sofa sectional, Pottery Barn blue brown gold rug, black coffee table, blue velvet settee with green bolster pillows, and the paisley wall decals…

Very warm and inviting master suite that feels spacious yet offers privacy through the blinds… Great use of space!

Enjoy a bedroom retreat with soft blue silk valance, blue silk drapes, bamboo roman shades, blue gray damask bedding, blue damask rug, wood bench, blue velvet tufted accent chairs, built ins, bookshelves, media center and white silver drum pendant!

I remember this show.. With its original awkward layout and bulky built-ins the homeowners had a very hard time redesigning this bathroom. What a transformation!

Butter yellow silk drapes, ivory sofa with chaise lounge, blue throw pillows, ivory bolster pillows, velvet blue tufted settee with nailhead trim, brass glass top accent table, French silver glass top coffee table, fireplace with gold mosaic tumbled tiles = BEAUTY!

Contemporary kitchen with modern light pendants, glossy white lacquer island with white modern stools, crisp white cabinets, bamboo roman shades, gray glass tiles, silk gray curtains drapes panels, upholstered window bench with slate gray blue silk pillows, dark wood floors and glass front kitchen cabinets.

Chocolate brown kitchen with chrome faux bamboo hardware, crystal pendant box pendant, glossy white lacquer modern kitchen island, and brown blue glass tiles backsplash.
